Man United & Liverpool Shirts at Manchester Airport Targeted by Leeds & Everton Fans’ Pranks
Rival Fans Play Pranks at Manchester Airport
Supporters of Leeds United and Everton have been causing mischief at Manchester Airport by placing their team jerseys over the shirts of their rivals in retail shops. Leeds fans have been taking Manchester United shirts and covering the displays with their own, while Everton supporters have been doing the same to Liverpool jerseys.
This trend has escalated during the summer, with multiple incidents occurring daily at JD Sports outlets. Fans often photograph their antics and share the images on social media. One insider described the behavior as initially humorous but now increasingly bothersome for staff, who see it as a misguided form of banter and internet point-scoring.
Despite the pranks, Liverpool shirts remain highly popular, with more Liverpool jerseys sold at Manchester Airport than those of any other team. Between July and August, Leeds’ blue away shirts ranked as the second-best seller, followed by Manchester United’s home and away jerseys. Liverpool’s away shirts were fifth on the list, and Everton jerseys came tenth.
The ongoing pranks highlight the playful rivalry between these clubs, though staff have expressed frustration over the repeated disruptions during the busy summer months.
