Meghan Markle’s ‘With Love, Meghan’ Season 2 Criticized in the UK

Critical Reception of the New Season of “With Love, Meghan”

The second season of Meghan Markle’s Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” launched this week, receiving largely negative reviews from UK critics.

The Guardian’s Lucy Mangan strongly criticized the show, describing it as “boring,” “contrived,” and “effortfully whimsical,” which she found so “painful” that it almost became fascinating. She highlighted guest Chrissy Teigen as the show’s “high point” and noted that the celebrities in cameos appeared underpaid.

The Times echoed similar sentiments, dismissing the series as “baffling” and suggesting Markle, as a host, seems “in need of cash.” Hilary Rose described the show as “irrelevant” and “tone-deaf,” citing an episode dedicated to wildfire victims as an example of poor judgment.

The Telegraph’s Anita Singh called the series “tone-deaf” and described Markle as “needy,” adding that the show failed to resonate with critics across the Atlantic, though it found some appreciation among American viewers.

Markle responded to the criticism in an interview, emphasizing her awareness of her audience, and expressing confidence in her show’s prospects. She stated, “My partners loved the show, and that’s why we’re returning for a second season.” The new season is now streaming on Netflix, continuing the show’s continuation despite mixed reviews.
