Kate & William’s New Neighbors Spark Privacy Concerns
Residents Hope for Privacy as Royal Family Moves to New Home
The upcoming neighbors of Kate Middleton and Prince William have expressed hopes that the royal couple will be able to enjoy their privacy. Residents at Cranbourne Hall Residential Park, near the royal family’s new residence, voiced their concerns about maintaining privacy for the couple and their children.
87-year-old Jean Reeve, a long-time resident for over 40 years, shared her thoughts: “I welcome them. But I hope the public respects their space and allows them to live peacefully as a family.” She acknowledged the location was less private compared to their previous home and expressed concern over people constantly passing by and recognizing their residence. Reeve added, “They have young children, after all. Privacy is important.”
Many locals are enthusiastic about welcoming the royals. Cynthia Sullivan, a 72-year-old teacher who has lived in the area for 16 years, said, “Most people around here are supportive of them. They’re lovely and family-oriented, and I think they’d enjoy visiting the local shops and pubs.”
Residents admire William and Kate, both 43, for their down-to-earth demeanor and family focus, with Reeve noting, “They’re young and always with their children, which is nice to see.” Sullivan mentioned, “It’s a refreshing change, and I believe most neighbors are in favor of their move.”
Concerns Over Nearby Properties
While the residents are optimistic, it was reported that two families living near the mansion were asked to vacate their cottages earlier this summer. A source indicated they weren’t given eviction notices but had to move elsewhere unexpectedly. The proximity of these houses to the royal lodge prompted restrictions on who could reside there, as the royal family’s privacy takes precedence.
The New Home and Moving Plans
The royal family is set to leave Adelaide Cottage later this year, where they’ve resided since 2022. They are reportedly moving to Fort Lodge, an $21 million, eight-bedroom mansion within Windsor Great Park, which will serve as their permanent residence. The move comes after a challenging period for Kate Middleton, including her cancer battle, leading the family to seek a more private and secure environment.
