Norman Reedus’ Son Threatens After Assault Arrest
Mingus Reedus, Son of Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen, Faces Legal Troubles
Mingus Reedus, aged 25, recently found himself at the center of legal and personal distress. He was arrested following allegations of domestic violence against a female partner, prompting authorities to respond to a call at their Manhattan residence. According to police reports, Mingus allegedly punched his girlfriend in the leg, causing redness, then choked her, lifted her off the ground, and slammed her onto the floor. He faces charges including assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
He was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges such as reckless physical injury, harassment, and assault. Mingus has pleaded not guilty to all allegations. His attorney, Priya Chaudhry, stated that her client is concerned about his ex-partner’s well-being and claims he ended their five-month relationship, leading to her distress and an attempt to harm herself by taking sleeping pills. The victim has reportedly moved out and expressed no interest in pressing charges, asserting she is no longer afraid of Mingus.
Additional tensions arose when Mingus allegedly insulted a reporter from The Post as he left court, calling her “ugly.”
Details of the incident reveal that Mingus reportedly strangled his girlfriend with such force that she was lifted off the ground inside their apartment. A police source described the victim as suffering from visible injuries following the assault.
Mingus was also detained after officers responded to a separate call involving the same woman, who had taken pills and threatened to commit suicide. During that incident, authorities allege he physically assaulted her, leading to his arrest and subsequent charges of assault and harassment.
Despite the allegations, Mingus maintains his innocence. He has been ordered to stay away from the victim. The case continues to unfold as he navigates these legal challenges.
