Taylor Swift’s Impact on Travis Kelce’s Chiefs Docuseries, ‘The Kingdom’
Taylor Swift Supports and Joins the Kansas City Chiefs Docuseries
Pop icon Taylor Swift featured in her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football team’s new ESPN docuseries, “The Kingdom.” The six-part series, which highlights the Chiefs’ 2024 season and the team’s storied history, was given Swift’s full approval for her image and likeness use, according to director Kristen Lappas.
While Swift did not participate in interviews, filmmakers chose to focus solely on the team’s journey, maintaining her role as an enthusiastic supporter rather than a direct subject. She has since become a dedicated fan, often seen cheering at games and attending matches across the country.
Kelce expressed that Swift has become very knowledgeable about football, describing her as “the most engrossed fan,” even understanding game situations and injury reports because she genuinely loves hearing about his career. In a recent appearance on Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” Swift revealed her initial confusion about the game, saying, “I didn’t know what a first down was.” Over time, she has transformed into a super-fan, attending games and following the team closely.
Swift’s support aligns with her recent appearances at Chiefs games, including fans’ photos capturing her cheering in the stands. Kelce noted that Swift’s involvement and enthusiasm reflect how she views herself as a part of the team’s community, rather than just a celebrity supporter.
Kelce further shared how Swift’s newfound love for football has been amusing; she jokingly described herself as running through her house excitedly discussing draft picks. The relationship’s mutual support also extends to Kelce’s participation in her music world, with him proudly attending her concerts, declaring, “I get to go and be that fan. Because I am a fan.”
