Trump to Attend Ryder Cup in New York & Weighs in on US Lineup
President Trump Supports Keegan Bradley for Ryder Cup Team and Plans to Attend
Former President Donald Trump expressed strong support for golfer Keegan Bradley to be part of the American Ryder Cup team, while also announcing his intention to attend the event on Long Island next month. He praised Bradley on social media, calling him an “AMAZING guy” and emphasizing his belief that Bradley should serve as team captain.
“Keegan Bradley should DEFINITELY be on the American Ryder Cup Team – As Captain!!!” Trump stated. “It will be a great Ryder Cup. At the invite of the PGA Tour, I will be there on Tournament Friday!!! President DJT.”
The Ryder Cup will be hosted at Bethpage Black Golf Course in Farmingdale from September 26 to 28. Bradley, aged 39, is currently the captain of the 2025 US Ryder Cup team but has yet to confirm if he will compete as a player. Typically, the team captain selects half of the players, but it’s uncommon for a captain to choose himself—Arnold Palmer was the last to do so in 1963.
Bradley, ranked 13th in the world, is expected to announce his final decision soon, which will determine the six additional team members joining those who automatically qualify. In recent comments, he acknowledged the weight of this decision, stating, “I promise you we’re going to make the best decision for the team and it’s going to be controversial either way. I’m ready for it. I know this is the biggest decision of my life.”
Bradley’s performance this year, including a victory at the Travelers Championship in June, keeps him in the running for the team. The six players who have secured automatic spots are Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, J.J. Spaun, Russell Henley, Harris English, and Bryson DeChambeau.
