Jerry Adler, a distinguished actor celebrated for his roles in “The Sopranos” and “The Good Wife,” has died peacefully in New York City at the age of 96.
Born in Brooklyn on February 4, 1929, Adler’s family announced his passing on Saturday via an online obituary. His representative shared that he died in his sleep, with the cause of death not publicly disclosed.
Adler’s career began on Broadway, notably serving as the stage manager for the original production of “My Fair Lady.” He transitioned into television and film, earning acclaim for his performances in projects like Woody Allen’s “Manhattan Murder Mystery” and Charlie Kaufman’s “Synechdoche, New York”.
He is survived by his four daughters — Alisa, Amy, Laura, and Emily — as well as his wife of 31 years, Joan Laxman.
