Gunfight in the Bronx Turns Deadly and Injures Multiple People

Over a dozen shots fired in the Bronx resulted in one death and four individuals sustaining gunshot wounds, according to authorities. The incident appears to be gang-related, and several firearms were recovered at the scene.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Burke Avenue and Wickham Avenue. Responding officers found a 32-year-old man with a chest wound and a 31-year-old man shot in the back. Both victims were rushed to Jacobi Hospital; the older man was pronounced dead, while the 31-year-old remains in critical condition.

Among those injured, three others arrived independently at nearby hospitals with gunshot injuries. A 17-year-old girl was admitted to Jacobi Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face, a 29-year-old man arrived with a back wound at the same hospital, and a 42-year-old individual with a grazing wound to the right arm checked in at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. All are reported to be in stable condition.
