Mark Goldbridge Calls Bundesliga ‘S***’ in Viral Throwback Clip After YouTuber Secures German League Broadcast Rights

Broadcaster Gains Rights to Show Bundesliga Matches, Despite Past Criticism

A recent viral clip has resurfaced showing Manchester United YouTuber Mark Goldbridge, known for his candid opinions, criticizing the Bundesliga as “s***” after Manchester United missed out on signing Dayot Upamecano. Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, has now secured the broadcast rights to German league matches for the upcoming season.

This agreement allows Goldbridge to feature Bundesliga games on his YouTube channel, ‘That’s Football,’ including 20 live matches scheduled on Friday nights, along with 34 weekly shows in the 2025-26 season. This makes his channel the first creator to hold official league broadcast rights, placing it alongside traditional broadcasters like Sky, BBC, and Amazon in the UK Bundesliga strategy.

The deal marks a significant milestone, combining digital content with traditional sports broadcasting. Both ‘That’s Football’ and Gary Neville’s ‘The Overlap’ will share live fixtures, providing commentary in watch-along formats. The partnership coincides with the BBC’s existing rights to Friday night matches and the Bundesliga’s own YouTube channel, while Sky and Amazon will continue to broadcast select weekend fixtures.

Despite his previous criticisms, Goldbridge’s involvement signifies his rise as a prominent football media figure, with his channels boasting millions of subscribers. His earnings and success have grown rapidly, even amid Manchester United’s on-field struggles. Notably, Goldbridge’s transactions reveal a substantial financial status, with over £4 million in the bank at the end of 2023.

His unconventional journey into broadcasting has sparked controversy, with critics like former United defender Paul Parker questioning his allegiance and motives, claiming Goldbridge is more interested in profit than club loyalty. Nevertheless, his new broadcasting rights for Bundesliga matches underline his influence in football media and digital sports broadcasting’s expanding landscape.
