Newcastle Boost Bid for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa After Isak’s S:ho:ck Post

Newcastle United Make Enhanced Bid for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa

Newcastle United has submitted an improved offer of £35 million plus additional incentives for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa. The two clubs are in ongoing discussions, with Wissa currently at the Bees’ training ground awaiting further developments.

Brentford previously rejected Newcastle’s initial bid of £30 million, maintaining their valuation of Wissa at around £50 million. Wissa has signaled his desire to leave by removing all Brentford references from his Instagram account and unfollowing the club.

The 28-year-old did not feature in Brentford’s season-opening 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest and has been training separately from the first team. Wissa believes that last summer, the club agreed to let him transfer this summer, and he expects that promise to be honored.

Brentford has been hesitant to sell Wissa, especially after losing Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United for £71 million. However, acquiring Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth for a record £42.5 million has made parting with Wissa more feasible for the Bees.

Newcastle is eager to bolster their attacking options, having already missed out on players like Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike, and Benjamin Sesko. They see Wissa as a crucial target to meet their striker recruitment needs.

Meanwhile, there is ongoing tension regarding Alexander Isak. The Swedish international has been protesting his situation, feeling betrayed after Newcastle declined to offer him a new contract last summer. He expressed his frustrations publicly, accusing the club of broken promises and indicating he wants to leave.

Despite his protests, Newcastle insists Isak remains under contract and has no plans to sell him, stating they want to retain their best players. The club emphasized that no sale conditions have been met and confirmed they will welcome him back when he’s ready to rejoin the team.
