Borussia Dortmund Boss Reveals Shocking Update on Jamie Gittens’ Future After Chelsea Fail to Swoop!
Dortmund Official Discusses Jamie Gittens’s Future Amid Chelsea Interest
Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, has indicated that discussions about Jamie Gittens’s future have recently taken place. Despite increased interest from Chelsea, who made an unsuccessful bid prior to the Club World Cup, Gittens remains under Dortmund’s contract.
Chelsea showed renewed enthusiasm for the winger after their initial failed bid of £29.5 million was rejected, and they later offered up to £42 million. However, Dortmund was not willing to go beyond that amount, valuing Gittens at around £55 million.
Kehl expressed confidence that Gittens will stay professional during the transfer window, despite ongoing speculation. He mentioned, “We’ve had one or two conversations with Jamie recently. He understands the importance of performing well, and he will continue to be a key player for us.” Gittens, who was a second-half substitute in Dortmund’s 0-0 draw against Fluminense, is eager to move but remains committed to his current team.
Although Chelsea remains interested, it is unclear if they will meet Dortmund’s valuation. Gittens has shown enthusiasm for the transfer, but Dortmund’s stance suggests they are holding firm on their price. The club has already strengthened its squad this summer, including the signing of Liam Delap for £30 million.
The transfer window is open, and Gittens’s future hangs in the balance as Chelsea considers whether to match Dortmund’s asking price amid the ongoing negotiations.
