Bethenny Frankel Reveals Housewives Contract Secrets
Bethenny Frankel Reveals Favorable Contract Details from ‘Real Housewives of New York’
Bethenny Frankel shared insights into her past contract negotiations with Bravo for her appearances on “Real Housewives of New York City.” She stated that she was able to negotiate a highly advantageous deal, getting her demands met without issue. “They asked me what I wanted. I asked for it. I got it,” she recounted, emphasizing the level of control she secured for her return to the show in Season 7.
Frankel explained that her contract allowed her to specify filming schedules, hours, and production styles to her preference, resulting in a “very cushy” arrangement. She also mentioned that her flexibility, such as arriving late or leaving early, helped maximize her time on camera while maintaining her desired conditions.
Her initial stint on the series in 2008 paid her just $7,250 for the entire season. Over time, her success outside the show soared, including her Skinnygirl beverage brand, her own talk show, book deals, and spin-offs. Despite her rising fame, she noted that her full contractual power only came with her return in Season 7, which caused some resentment among co-stars.
Frankel highlighted that she strategically managed her presence, joining cast trips late and departing early to optimize her filming time. However, she confirmed that the primary reason for leaving “RHONY” in 2019 was financial disagreements, as she reportedly made a significant offer to stay but it was declined.
Later, she criticized Bravo’s production practices as “toxic” and called for systemic change. Still, she expressed openness to returning to reality TV if offered a lucrative deal, estimating that she would require a payment of “definitely seven figures for a couple of months” to consider rejoining.
