Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Assistant Allegedly Had an Affair with Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson’s former assistant, Brittney Marie Jones, is accused of having an extramarital relationship with Brandon Blackstock, Clarkson’s ex-husband. A source reports that Jones’s then-husband, Greg LaPoint, discovered the affair in summer 2023, leading to their divorce filings. LaPoint expressed feeling betrayed, claiming the affair began while Jones was still married.

Jones filed for divorce from LaPoint in July 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences,” although court documents show she listed their separation date as January 2023, the same month LaPoint posted a social media photo of them together on a hike. Their divorce was finalized by early 2024. Despite the allegations, Jones has not responded to requests for comment.

Multiple sources confirm Blackstock did not cheat on Clarkson with Jones, asserting their separation predates his relationship with Jones. Blackstock moved to Montana following his divorce from Clarkson in 2022, maintaining a private life. Clarkson reportedly felt disappointed by his new relationship but has never publicly commented on the rumors.

The public became aware of Jones’s romantic involvement with Blackstock after an obituary following his death from melanoma in August 2025 described her as his “beautiful and loving partner in life and business.” The two had worked together since 2018, managing Clarkson’s schedule and later Blackstock’s ventures.

Clarkson has not publicly addressed the cheating rumors, though court documents noted rising conflicts and trust issues with Blackstock. At his passing, Jones was living with Blackstock at his Montana estate, where he resided until his death.

The late Blackstock’s father publicly called him his daughter’s “soulmate” and expressed great admiration following his death. Reps for Clarkson and Blackstock have not issued formal comments on the allegations.
