Ruben Amorim Reports on £74m Sesko’s Fitness for Arsenal Clash

Ruben Amorim Provides Update on Benjamin Sesko’s Fitness for Season Opener Against Arsenal

Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has addressed whether £74 million summer signing Benjamin Sesko is prepared to start in the upcoming match against Arsenal. Sesko, a Slovenian international, joined United last week as a marquee signing, adding to the club’s attacking options alongside Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

While Cunha and Mbeumo participated in pre-season training in the US, Sesko has only recently begun training sessions with his new team. Despite this limited acclimatization, Amorim believes Sesko is ready to feature against Arsenal.

“He is physically prepared, which is crucial for our league,” Amorim stated. “He is very intelligent and attentive to details.”

Amorim highlighted Sesko’s dedication, noting he spends afternoons working on his fitness and is continuously developing his game sense. “He has great potential and can adapt to different styles of football,” the coach added.

Amorim expressed confidence in Sesko’s long-term prospects at Manchester United, emphasizing that the club invested heavily in a player expected to have a lasting legacy.

Other players like Joshua Zirkzee and Andre Onana are also fit and could be considered for the match. Notably, Rasmus Hojlund was left on the bench during the final pre-season game, but it is unlikely he will be rested for the season opener.

Sources at the club have praised Sesko’s curiosity in training, describing him as highly motivated and obsessed with football, traits that have endeared him to his coach.

Amorim added, “He is always thinking about the game and is very passionate. With him, I don’t have to worry about the pressure or physicality — he enjoys the challenge.”
