Kate Gosselin Denies Causing Kids’ Estrangement

Kate Gosselin Responds to Son’s Accusations of Estrangement

Kate Gosselin has appeared to defend herself after her son Collin Gosselin, now 21, implied she played a role in the separation from his siblings via a TikTok post. Collin shared emotional messages about feeling isolated from his family, accompanied by photos expressing sentiments like “Born to be a team, us against the world,” and later, “Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could’ve looked like.” He lamented being “pitted against” his siblings and questioned if wealth and fame made up for the loss of childhood experiences, ending with a heartfelt declaration, “I will always love them more than anything.”

In a comment under Kate’s recent TikTok, a fan referenced Collin’s post, suggesting the mother was responsible for their estrangement. She replied succinctly with, “he knows why,” denying her culpability in the family rift. The family’s history of discord is well documented, with Collin previously accusing their mother of abuse, alleging she zip-tied and confined him in a basement, which Kate denied, stating she acted to protect her family from his reportedly troubled behavior.

Collin shared a reflective TikTok just weeks earlier, posting nostalgic photos of his siblings and himself, expressing regret over how their lives have been “forced apart” despite their bond. His posts have sparked ongoing discussion about the family’s strained relationships following the end of their reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Jon Gosselin, Collin’s father, has previously spoken out, claiming Kate handled Collin’s behavioral issues improperly, and a family split occurred, with Collin and his sister Hannah choosing to live with Jon. Jon also accused Kate of institutionalizing Collin without proper diagnosis, allegations she has contested. Despite these family conflicts, Collin expressed love for his siblings, emphasizing the importance of family bonds.

Recently, Kate returned to her career as a home healthcare nurse, explaining that her financial struggles—exacerbated by legal battles—forced her back into work. She revealed that her focus on providing for her children, including funding their education and legal expenses, has been demanding but meaningful. Kate also briefly appeared on a reality TV series, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, though she left due to an injury.
