Texas Students Injured in School Bus Crash on First Day of Class
Rural School Bus Rollover in Texas Injures Multiple Children
A school bus carrying over 40 students on the first day of class in Texas flipped over after leaving a rural road, resulting in several injuries, authorities reported.
At least one individual has sustained life-threatening injuries, with two others suffering potentially serious wounds, according to officials. The bus was traveling on a two-lane rural road when it unexpectedly veered off the right side and overturned, though the exact cause remains under investigation.
Video footage captured the scene, showing the yellow bus on its side with a damaged roof and broken windows. Emergency responders worked to stabilize the scene, with state troopers and medical teams present.
The bus, operated by the Leander Independent School District, was primarily carrying elementary students. The crash occurred shortly after school dismissal, before any students had been dropped off. The vehicle is a 2024 model, equipped with mandatory seat belts that children are required to wear.
According to Superintendent Bruce Gearing, 42 children were aboard, and among the 12 people transported to hospitals, it is unclear if the critically injured individual was a student or the driver. Authorities are still investigating the incident’s原因.
Community Support and Ongoing Investigations
School officials emphasized their concern for the affected families and expressed their commitment to providing support during this difficult time. As investigations continue into the crash, the community awaits further details about what led to the accident.
