Donnarumma’s Agent Threatens Legal Action Over Transfer Fee Dispute with PSG

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s Dispute with PSG: Agent Threatens Legal Action Over Transfer Fees

The agent of Gianluigi Donnarumma has accused Paris Saint-Germain of showing “zero respect” to the Italian goalkeeper amid tense relations. Donnarumma, 26, was left out of PSG’s squad for the UEFA Super Cup match against Tottenham and appears poised to leave the club, with interest from several Premier League teams.

Once a key player in PSG’s recent Champions League victory, Donnarumma’s standing at the club has diminished after being told he would be replaced by the £48 million signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille. His agent, Enzo Raiola—cousin of the late influential agent Mino Raiola—has voiced strong criticism of PSG’s treatment of his client.

Following Donnarumma’s public expression of disappointment, Raiola condemned the club for demanding a significant transfer fee despite only having one year left on his contract. He announced that the family is consulting with legal advisors and considering potential options, including negotiations with clubs in the Premier League.

Raiola accused PSG of exhibiting disrespect and indicated that the club’s requests for a large transfer fee are driven solely by financial motives. PSG boss Luis Enrique recently confirmed that Donnarumma was omitted from the squad for disciplinary reasons, stating that the decision was his own to fulfill his team-building vision.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City is interested in acquiring Donnarumma, especially after his influential role in PSG’s Champions League win. Other European clubs, including Real Madrid and teams in Saudi Arabia, are also monitoring his situation. City has recently signed goalkeeper James Trafford and is considering further reinforcement, with interest also reportedly from Manchester United, though the Red Devils are not currently pursuing his signature.

PSG is likely to demand around £40 million for Donnarumma, who has made 161 appearances for the club since joining from AC Milan in 2021. During his time in France, he has secured four Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, three Super Cups, and a Champions League trophy. Donnarumma also notably helped Italy become European champions in 2021.
