Leonardo DiCaprio, 50, Says He’s ‘Emotionally’ 32 Amid Dating Younger Women Backlash
Leonardo DiCaprio Reveals Feeling Two Decades Younger
In a recent interview, Leonardo DiCaprio offered insight into his perception of age, suggesting he feels almost 20 years younger than his actual age. The 50-year-old actor, known for dating significantly younger women, shared with filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson that he considers himself about 32.
When asked how old he would be if he didn’t know his real age, DiCaprio responded, “Thirty-two,” to which Anderson noted that turning 50 might be a natural point for reflection. DiCaprio jokingly added he “turned emotionally 35 last year,” leading Anderson to quip, “Your age is 50, but your emotional maturity is 32. How does that feel?”
DiCaprio explained that since reaching this milestone birthday in November 2024, his outlook has shifted. He emphasized the importance of honesty and transparency, acknowledging this approach can carry risks like relationship disagreements or splits. “You have a desire to just be more honest and not waste your time,” he said, noting that “much more of your life is behind you than ahead.”
He also cited his mother as a model of straightforwardness—she doesn’t hide her thoughts or fake feelings, something he now strives to emulate in his own relationships.
He acknowledged that embracing honesty involves risking partnerships falling apart or facing disagreements, but believes that, as he progresses into the future, this mindset will only deepen. The actor is also more open now, inspired by his mother’s candidness, which he considers more authentic than trying to fake anything in life.
