Reba McEntire Pays Tribute to Her Former Stepson Brandon Blackstock
Country music star Reba McEntire has expressed her sorrow following the passing of her ex-stepson, Brandon Blackstock. She shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, accompanied by a series of photos, revealing that Brandon had recently died. She wrote, “Last week, my stepson and eldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His fight has ended, and he rests peacefully in divine presence.”
Reba added, “There is no one else like him, and I cherish the time we spent together. His legacy and joyful spirit will live on through his family. Rest peacefully, cowboy. Until we meet again, happy trails.” She also commented on her son Shelby’s Instagram, reaffirming her love and support.
Brandon Blackstock, aged 48, passed away after a three-year battle with melanoma, a family representative confirmed. Reba had maintained a close relationship with Brandon even after her divorce from his father, Narvel Blackstock, in 2015, often referring to him as her son.
He was known for his work as a talent manager and for his marriage to Kelly Clarkson, with whom he shared two children, River and Remington. Brandon also had a daughter, Savannah, and a son, Seth, from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth.
In her 2021 interview, Reba expressed her love for Brandon and Kelly Clarkson, emphasizing her supportive stance during their divorce. Clarkson and Brandon eventually settled their divorce in 2022 after a lengthy and contentious legal process. Recently, Clarkson canceled her Las Vegas residency, citing her children’s health issues, shortly before the tragic news of Brandon’s passing was announced.
Reba McEntire described Brandon as “irreplaceable” in her family and shared that his memory and spirit would always remain cherished. Her love and support for his family continue to be evident amidst this difficult time.
