Shocking! Wendy Williams’ Ex Hurtles to End Guardianship in Controversial Lawsuit!

Kevin Hunter Files Lawsuit to End Wendy Williams’s Guardianship

Kevin Hunter, the ex-husband of Wendy Williams, has filed a $250 million federal lawsuit to terminate her guardianship. The filing comes after concerns from Williams’s son, who reportedly felt threatened by a New York state judge overseeing her conservatorship case.

Hunter, 52, stepped in to file the lawsuit on Tuesday in New York on behalf of his son, Kevin Hunter Jr., since he is the next of kin and there was no one else able to act. A source close to the situation explained, “We know he’s not a great husband — he cheated, had a baby — but there’s nobody else.” (Source: WireImage)

The lawsuit challenges the current guardianship’s authority, alleging Wendy Williams is being abused, neglected, and mismanaged by court-appointed guardians. The suit specifically targets guardian Sabrina Morrissey, Wells Fargo bank (initially flagged concerns about Williams’s well-being in 2022), her former financial advisor Lori Schiller, ex-manager Bernie Young, and others.

According to an insider, Hunter’s legal action aims to draw attention to Williams’s situation, as lawsuits in federal court cannot be sealed like in state courts, making the case more transparent. Additionally, concerns have been raised about Williams’s health and treatment under guardianship.

Allegations of Mismanagement and Health Concerns

The suit alleges that Williams, who has been diagnosed with Graves’ disease, frontal temporal dementia, and progressive aphasia, is still under overmedication and subject to undue restrictions. It claims she remains confined against her will at an assisted living facility, with limited access to her phone and family contact, despite passing a competency evaluation around March 2025.

Hunter asserts that Williams is competent to make her own decisions, accusing her guardians of ignoring medical advice and unfairly restricting her freedom, effectively keeping her in “fraudulent bondage.” The lawsuit aims to challenge her current custodianship and advocate for Williams’s autonomy.
