Sources suggest Tottenham is set to make their first official offer for Eze, whose contract includes a release clause around £68 million. However, this clause may be invalid now, as it was reportedly set to expire in August, giving Palace freedom to set their own valuation. Eze still has two years remaining on his deal, but Palace anticipates receiving offers before the transfer window closes.

This situation may lead to a tense bidding war between Tottenham and Arsenal, both reluctant to bid if Eze might prefer one club over the other. Eze made a significant impact this season, helping Palace secure victory in the Community Shield against Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Tottenham has spent approximately £126 million on players like Mohamed Kudus and Joao Palhinha. They are also exploring a potential move for Brazilian winger Savinho, although Manchester City would demand a hefty fee.

Palace’s chairman, Steve Parish, expressed that players may come and go, but hopes Eze and defender Marc Guehi will remain at the club for now, noting the unpredictable nature of football transfers.
