Howard Stern ‘Can’t Stand’ SiriusXM Rival Alex Cooper

Howard Stern Dislikes “Call Her Daddy” Podcast Host Alex Cooper

Legendary radio personality Howard Stern reportedly harbors a strong dislike for podcast star Alex Cooper, leading Sirius XM executives to carefully avoid situations where they might meet. An insider revealed that Stern is irritated by Cooper’s skyrocketing success, including her lucrative $125 million deal and her hundreds of millions of monthly streams. According to the source, Sirius XM makes efforts to keep Stern away from Cooper when she visits New York.

“She’s the one who bothers him,” the insider explained. “He hates that this young, energetic woman is the new face of the industry, especially given her massive popularity.”

Coupled with her rising fame, Cooper’s move to SiriusXM in 2024 from Spotify has reportedly unsettled Stern, who has been at the helm of radio for over four decades. The insider said, “It’s completely turned Howard’s world upside down. These newer podcasters like Alex and Joe Rogan are surprising traditional radio veterans.”

While Stern’s own future at Sirius XM remains uncertain as his contract ends this fall, sources suggest the network is unlikely to renew his deal. A separate insider commented, “Howard’s contract expires in the fall, and Sirius is planning to offer him a new one, but they don’t expect him to accept.”

Meanwhile, Cooper’s influence continues to grow, as she interviews prominent celebrities and public figures. Her documentary “Call Her Alex,” which traces her journey to fame, was released on Disney+ and Hulu in June. She shared at the premiere, “This was a way for you to get to know me as Alex Cooper from Pennsylvania, to see where I started.”

Despite her rising star, Stern remains notably unimpressed, with some insiders indicating his frustration over her success and the shift in the media landscape she represents.
