Legal Dispute Over Unpaid Divorce Fees and Custody Battle

The actress and former “Hart of Dixie” star is facing a court summons to address an outstanding debt exceeding $100,000 in legal fees related to her divorce. The law firm representing her ex-husband’s legal team alleges she has yet to settle these charges, which include interest totaling around $2,000. The court has ordered her to disclose her assets to facilitate the collection process.

Previously, she was ordered to pay approximately $98,441 in legal fees, with the court noting that, as the higher-earning spouse, she was responsible for this obligation. Despite this, more than a year later, her representatives claim neither she nor her current legal team were aware of the filing, suggesting a breakdown in communication.

The ongoing divorce proceedings have been marked by intense disputes over custody, with recent court rulings granting her supervised visitation rights. She is allowed to see her sons—James, 11, and Leo, 9—only three times a week, and she was mandated to complete a six-month alcohol and drug rehabilitation program. Her custody arrangement was later modified after she failed to fulfill the rehab requirements.

In October 2024, her ex-husband filed for sole custody, alleging he found her intoxicated and under the influence while caring for their children. The couple’s custody battle intensified, revealing deep-seated disagreements over both custody and financial responsibilities, with a settlement reached in 2023.

Recent legal actions also involve her financial struggles, including losing her Los Angeles residence after accumulating over $42,000 in unpaid rent.
