Aaron Phypers Responds to Denise Richards’ Dog Incident Claims

Dispute Over Pets and Divorce Fallout

Aaron Phypers has spoken out, claiming that his estranged wife, Denise Richards, has not had any interaction with their pets for the past two years and did not authorize him to make decisions regarding their care. He addressed accusations that he euthanized their senior dog without her consent, asserting otherwise.

Phypers stated, “Denise hasn’t interacted with the animals in two years and has never shown interest in being involved in their care or giving permission.” Representatives for both parties did not immediately comment on the situation.

Richards accused Phypers of having their dog’s remains disposed of without her knowledge after she caused a disturbance at their Calabasas home, where he was staying with family. Police responded to the scene following her visit, which was made despite a temporary restraining order against Phypers—an order she obtained citing concerns over abuse, which he denies.

Richards’ lawyer claimed she did not violate the restraining order, as she confirmed beforehand that Phypers was not present. A source close to Phypers refuted Richards’ allegations, calling them “100 percent false,” and explained that their dog, Melanie, was suffering from late-stage cancer. The decision to euthanize was made after veterinary advice, considering her pain and condition. The insider said, “It was a painful decision. To say she was ‘put down’ is hurtful.”

Phypers, who filed for divorce after six years of marriage, did not attend the visit due to the restraining order but called police out of concern for his family’s safety. Richards was granted a temporary order after accusing Phypers of physical abuse during their marriage, which he has denied, while also alleging she has issues with Vicodin, alcohol, and an affair with a co-star.
