Anti-Israel Activist Confronts Ex-IDF Soldier Over Star of David Necklace on NY Beach
Anti-Israel Activist Confronts Former Israeli Soldier on New York Beach
An otherwise peaceful afternoon at a New York beach was disrupted when an anti-Israel protester directed a loud and aggressive verbal attack at a man wearing a Star of David necklace. The incident was captured on video and shared online.
In the footage, the activist accuses the man—who confirmed he previously served in the Israel Defense Forces and had been stationed in Gaza—of war crimes, including killing children. She demands to see a photo of his brother in Gaza and questions his pride in his military service. Despite her hostility, the men remain calm and respectful throughout the exchange.
The protester yelled: “Please show me a picture of your brother in Gaza. The world wants to see your faces!” She questioned whether he was proud of his service, to which he replied, “I’m proud of serving my country.” This incited her further accusations about violence and radicalization.
The man attempted to engage her in a dialogue, asking if she has ever been to Gaza. She responded that she cannot go there because of restrictions imposed by her people, and warned him that if he went dressed as he was, he would be attacked.
A lifeguard intervened to mediate, as the protester claimed that Israelis had insulted her and that Israeli soldiers had killed people in Gaza. Despite her threats, the man remained composed and asked her why she was sitting with people she accused of killing children. She ultimately walked away shouting “Free Palestine!”
The incident underscores ongoing tensions and confrontations surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, even in public spaces abroad.
