Five Friends Tragically Killed in Central Texas Crash
A devastating accident in central Texas resulted in the deaths of five young women traveling together. The women, all in their 20s, were en route from Dallas to a lake house to celebrate Thalia Salinas’s 23rd birthday when a head-on collision occurred.
According to authorities, a truck pulling a horse trailer swerved into oncoming traffic and struck their Mercedes SUV. The impact caused the vehicle to flip and immediately catch fire, leading to the women’s fatalities. Fortunately, other drivers involved sustained only minor injuries.
The truck involved in the crash, driven by Kody Talley, fled the scene after the collision. Later, he was located and charged with five counts of manslaughter. It was reported that Talley’s truck crashed into a fence, where he abandoned it and departed. He has not undergone testing for drugs or alcohol as of now.

The victims included longtime friends Thalia Salinas, Ruby Cruz, Brianna Valadez, Desiree Cervantez, and Jacqueline Velazco. Salinas had been behind the wheel, heading to a lakefront location to celebrate her birthday with friends and family. Her family expressed deep sorrow, remarking on the lifelong bond between the friends, who had known each other since middle school.

The SUV was hit after the truck crossed into their lane, flipping and igniting. The driver of the truck later abandoned the vehicle, which then collided with a fence. The truck driver, identified as Kody Talley, was charged after leaving the scene. He is currently facing manslaughter charges related to the incident.
