Liverpool Agree £85m Sale with Al-Hilal as Star Player Decides on Saudi Arabia Move

Liverpool Nears Deal with Al-Hilal for Darwin Nunez, Player to Decide on Saudi Move

Liverpool and Al-Hilal are reportedly close to an agreement regarding the transfer of striker Darwin Nunez. The Saudi club has offered the Premier League champions €53 million (£46 million) plus additional bonuses for the Uruguayan international.

The deal is contingent on Nunez agreeing personal terms with Al-Hilal. After Liverpool paid a record £85 million for him three summers ago, the player’s decision now hinges on whether he wants to move to Saudi Arabia. The club has not issued an official comment on the negotiations.

Nunez has been linked with a move away from Liverpool throughout this transfer window. Last January, Al-Nassr made an unsuccessful bid for him, and Napoli also expressed interest but did not match Liverpool’s valuation. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal appears to be leading the race to sign the 26-year-old, with progress ongoing in negotiations.

Recent transfer activity at Liverpool suggests the forward’s departure is imminent. The Reds signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for £79 million and have made a £110 million offer for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, which was rejected. Isak has indicated a desire to leave Newcastle and has missed their Asian tour amid injury concerns, further fueling speculation about his future.

The transfer saga involving Nunez does not seem to be affected by Newcastle’s pursuits of other targets, with many believing Nunez has played his last game for Liverpool. The club continues to strengthen its squad by securing players like Wirtz, Frimpong, and Kerkez, signaling a busy transfer period ahead.
