Woman Found Dead on Boat in Montauk Identified

The woman discovered deceased aboard a boat in Montauk on Tuesday has been identified as Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra, a well-loved local designer from Manhattan. She was known for spending her summers on the East End.

According to authorities, Nolan-O’Slatarra, 33, was found unconscious on a vessel docked at the Montauk Yacht Club around midnight. Emergency responders confirmed her death at the scene. Her cause of death remains under investigation by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Residents and members of the yacht club reported hearing screams late Monday night near the docks. Nolan-O’Slatarra was remembered as kind, always smiling, and a positive presence in the community. She recently hosted a pop-up shop at Montauk’s exclusive Gurney’s Resort, showcasing her swim, eye, and resort wear, which she shared on social media.

Originally from Ireland, Nolan moved to the U.S. at age 26 and launched her fashion brand East x East in the Hamptons last year. Her colleagues and community members expressed sadness over her sudden passing.
