Wrexham Sign Another Ex-Premier League Star as Reynolds & McElhenney Eye Fourth Promotion

Wrexham Sign Former Premier League Player as They Aim for a Fourth Promotion

Wrexham have announced the addition of another ex-Premier League star as they prepare for their return to the Championship. The club, managed by Phil Parkinson, achieved their third consecutive promotion last season, finishing second in League One behind Birmingham.

Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club in 2021, Wrexham has undergone significant transformation. The Hollywood duo’s ambitions continue to drive the club forward, evidenced by recent transfer activity.

On Tuesday, Wrexham secured the signing of Kieffer Moore from Championship rivals Sheffield United. The 32-year-old striker joined on a three-year deal in a transfer reportedly worth around £2 million. Moore expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m over the moon to join the club and can’t wait to get started.”

Moore is the latest prominent player to join Wrexham, following the recent signing of former Leicester defender Conor Coady on a two-year contract. The club has already broken its transfer record twice this summer, acquiring Liberato Cacace from Empoli and Lewis O’Brien from Nottingham Forest. They even made a bid for Christian Eriksen before the midfielder declined, opting to continue his career at the top level.

“I want to bring experience and leadership, working hard to help push the team forward,” Moore added. His arrival marks Wrexham’s eighth signing of the summer as they gear up for their first season in the second tier of English football since 1982.
