Liverpool’s Tyler Morton Nears £15m Transfer to Lyon for First-Team Action
Liverpool’s Tyler Morton nearing transfer to Lyon for up to £15m amid search for regular first-team football
Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton is close to completing a transfer to French club Lyon, with the deal valued at up to £15 million. The 22-year-old England U21 international has been seeking more consistent playing opportunities, attracting interest from several teams including West Ham, Sporting Braga, Ajax, and Strasbourg.
Liverpool has been holding firm on a £15 million asking price for Morton, and Lyon has reportedly agreed to provisional terms, with the transfer expected to be finalized soon. Morton spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Hull City in the Championship and returned to Merseyside last season. However, he only made six appearances in all competitions as Liverpool, under new manager Arne Slot, enjoyed success in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s striker Darwin Nunez remains a target for Saudi club Al Hilal. The club values Nunez at around £70 million and has previously rejected offers from Al Nassr and Napoli for the Uruguay international.
Other transfer developments include Liverpool’s ongoing considerations with Nunez’s future, while Newcastle United has Nunez on their radar, though they prioritize other targets like Alexander Isak, with no confirmed bid from Liverpool yet.
