Bryan Kohberger Shown Moments After Idaho Murders Arrest

New Photo Shows Bryan Kohberger Moments After His Arrest

A recent photograph captures Bryan Kohberger with a blank expression, handcuffed, shortly after his arrest for the murders of four students from the University of Idaho.

The image, obtained by ABC News, was taken immediately following Kohberger’s detention while he was going through garbage at his parents’ residence in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, on December 30, 2022.

Idaho Police Chief Anthony Dahlinger recalled the moment vividly, saying, “My phone dinged, and I saw the message, ‘We got him.’” Kohberger, then a 30-year-old criminology PhD student at Washington State University, appeared emotionless as he was taken into custody.

Another photograph shows Kohberger at the courthouse during his sentencing, dressed in black shorts and a hoodie, with a similarly expressionless demeanor.

Details of the interrogation reveal Kohberger’s unchanging expression during initial questions, with a stark shift when discussing the murders. Idaho State Police Lt. Darren Gilbertson noted Kohberger’s response changed suddenly — he declined to answer further and requested an attorney after the topic arose.
