Gina Huynh Asks Judge to Release Diddy on Bail

Support from Ex-Girlfriend Boosts Diddy’s Case Ahead of Sentencing

Sean “Diddy” Combs has unexpectedly gained backing from Gina Huynh, an ex-girlfriend who was initially expected to testify against him during his Manhattan trial but now advocates for his release. Huynh, previously identified as “Victim-3,” wrote a letter to the court requesting that Combs be released before his upcoming sentencing on prostitution charges.

In her letter, Huynh expressed her belief that Combs hasn’t been violent in recent years and remains committed to being a dedicated father. She highlighted the positive changes she has observed, stating, “He has made efforts to improve himself and address past harms.” Huynh also emphasized his strong family bonds and community ties, arguing that his release would allow him to continue supporting his children and fulfill his responsibilities.

Gina Huynh, who once had a five-year relationship with Combs, submitted a plea for his release prior to his October sentencing.

Huynh, who publicly accused Combs in 2019 of physically assaulting her during their relationship, stated she no longer believed he posed a danger to the community. Despite being subpoenaed as a witness during the trial, she did not appear in court. Instead, she argued that Combs had been cooperative and respectful during the investigation, and that he remains an active presence in his family’s life. She assured the court that if released, he would comply with all conditions and not threaten his or others’ safety.

Her support comes amidst allegations of abuse, with Huynh recounting instances where Combs allegedly physically attacked her — including stomping on her stomach to the point she couldn’t breathe. She accused him of mental and physical abuse, often comparing her to his former partner, Cassie Ventura, to diminish her.

Combs was acquitted last month on racketeering and sex trafficking charges but was found guilty of prostitution-related offenses. He is currently seeking release from Brooklyn federal jail ahead of his scheduled sentencing on October 3. During the trial, details emerged about his controversial preferences, including drug-fueled encounters involving his girlfriend and escorts.
