A woman, identified only as “C,” recently revealed in newly unsealed police documents that she had a chilling encounter with Bryan Kohberger on a dating app just weeks before he committed the 2022 murders of four college students. According to her account, Kohberger immediately began asking disturbing questions about murders, including details about the Ka-Bar knife he used in the crime.

In her testimony, she described how, after discussing a past murder in her hometown, Kohberger shifted the conversation to horror movies, asking her what her favorite was. When she mentioned liking Rob Zombie’s Halloween films, he inquired about her thoughts on the worst way to die. When she responded that she thought it would be with a knife, Kohberger asked, “Like a Ka Bar?” The woman later discovered that Kohberger had purchased the same type of military-style knife online in the months preceding the murders.

The woman told police she stopped communicating with Kohberger because his questions感ake her feel uncomfortable, although it’s unclear when she reported the incident. The police report noted there was no way to verify her story, as she no longer had access to her Tinder account.

Additional evidence shows Kohberger had purchased the same brand of knife believed to have been used in the killings. The documents also detail various tips and leads police investigated during their pursuit of Kohberger, who ultimately pleaded guilty and received four life sentences for the murders of Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin on November 13, 2022.
