Small Plane Crash Off Monterey County Claims Three Lives

A small aircraft tragically crashed off the coast of Monterey County, California, resulting in the deaths of all three people aboard. The incident occurred late Saturday night near Point Pinos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove.

Emergency responders, including the US Coast Guard, Cal Fire rescue teams, police, sheriff’s offices, and fire departments from multiple agencies, launched a coordinated rescue effort that extended into Sunday. Despite extensive efforts, all three individuals on the plane were confirmed dead at the scene.

The aircraft was identified as a twin-engine Beechcraft built in 1974. According to FAA records, it departed from San Carlos Airport near Redwood City at around 10:11 p.m. Saturday. The last radar sighting was recorded at 10:37 p.m., with the plane having completed a previous flight from Monterey to San Carlos on July 18.
