Florida Senator Campaigns to Attract Disillusioned New Yorkers

Senator Rick Scott of Florida has launched aerial advertisements over New York beaches this weekend, encouraging residents to escape the city’s rising socialism and cost of living. The banners read, “Hate Socialism? Move to Florida,” and highlight the state’s superior beaches with the message, “We Have Better Beaches.”

Scott described the campaign as a friendly reminder to New Yorkers that Florida offers a refuge from socialism alongside its renowned beaches. He criticized the city’s high cost of living, increased anti-Semitism on college campuses, and the rise of progressive politician Zohran Mamdani.

“Once, New York City symbolized the American Dream—where anything was possible. Now, it’s a city where only the wealthy thrive, Jewish students face attacks, capitalism is shunned, and socialist leaders like Mamdani are celebrated,” Scott said. He emphasized that the city has benefited from capitalism, but it’s being demonized by national Democrats.

He also criticized socialist ideas as outdated and failed systems, referencing Florida’s history as a safe haven for families fleeing autocratic regimes in countries like Cuba and Venezuela.

Scott added, “As governor and senator, I’ve worked tirelessly to ensure families have access to good jobs, quality education, and safe communities—core aspects of the American Dream. It’s heartbreaking to see that slipping away in New York.”

“Families in New York deserve better,” he concluded.
