Zohran Mamdani’s Exclusive Presidential-Style Uganda Wedding Bash
NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani Celebrates Wedding in Uganda with Lavish Festivities
Zohran Mamdani, a leading contender in the NYC mayoral race, marked his recent wedding with a three-day celebration at his family’s luxurious estate in Uganda. The event featured high security, including masked guards and cellphone jamming systems, and was held at his family’s secluded Buziga Hill property near Kampala.
The estate, set on two acres with panoramic views of Lake Victoria and surrounded by mature trees, was transformed into a festive venue. Guests arrived via buses and luxury vehicles, with Christmas lights strung through the garden’s trees, music playing, and local DJs providing entertainment. Security was notably tight, with over twenty commandos stationed outside the compound, some hiding behind masks, to ensure only invited guests could enter.
The Mamdani family estate is situated in an affluent neighborhood, neighboring Ugandan billionaires and wealthy real estate owners, with properties valued at over a million dollars. Environmental decorations included Christmas lights in the trees and flower arrangements outside security gates, where some flowers were left on the ground after the celebration.
Local residents, mostly unaware of the event, expressed privacy concerns, stating that the wedding was not widely known in the community. Some residents speculated about Mamdani’s political future, hoping it might ease travel restrictions or provide opportunities for local youth to visit the U.S.
The celebrations coincided with mourning for a respected local figure, former Ugandan Supreme Court Judge George Kanyeihamba, who passed away recently. The community observed a sense of insensitivity, given the simultaneous mourning and joyful festivities, as some neighbors voiced concern over the timing of the wedding.
Despite the gathered festivity, questions about whether President Museveni attended the event remain unanswered. Mamdani, who documented the trip on social media, announced he would remain in Uganda until the end of the month, jokingly speculating on possible headlines about his trip in local and international media.
