The controversy started after a video surfaced showing the couple cuddling at a Coldplay concert, sparking widespread speculation and dubbed “Coldplaygate” by netizens—a play on the Watergate scandal.

The incident has flooded platforms like X, Facebook, and Instagram with various posts, including fake and unverified claims. One circulating post mimicked an official statement from Astronomer, adding to the confusion.

In response, Musk commented with a smiley face on a related post, signaling his engagement with the topic. When a user questioned whether the story was real, the platform’s AI assistant, Grok, clarified that the post was satirical, noting that there was no official statement from the company about the alleged affair.

Many on social media speculated about Musk’s reaction, with some interpreting his comment as amusement or suggesting he was following the scandal closely. Separately, Musk’s personal life has garnered attention, especially reports from 2021 claiming he had a child with Shivon Zilis, his subordinate at Neurolink.

Biographer Walter Isaacson confirmed this by sharing two photos from 2023 showing Musk with Zilis and their twins, indicating they were 16 months old at that time. This marked their first online appearance since the news of the secret child emerged in November 2021.

Regarding the circulating statements and open letters involving Astronomer’s leadership, these are unverified, and there has been no official response from the company or its executives concerning the incident.
