Hulk Hogan’s Bar Near MSG to Stay Open After His Passing
Hulk Hogan’s $7 Million Sports Bar Project to Proceed Despite His Passing
The ambitious plan to open a $7 million sports-themed bar located opposite Madison Square Garden will move forward, even after the passing of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan.
Initially, Hogan envisioned a 9,000-square-foot venue called Slam, situated across from the site where he first made his WWE debut in 1979. The bar was meant to celebrate his storied career and connect fans to his legacy.
Though Hogan died earlier this week at age 71, his partner Rich Rosen confirmed that the project remains on track. Rosen expressed that the bar would be a tribute to Hogan’s influence on sports and entertainment, capturing the spirit of Hulkamania with memorabilia, screens showcasing his historic moments, and Hogan’s own beer brand, Real American Beer.
Designed to resemble the inside of Madison Square Garden, the venue will feature multiple floors, including a rooftop bar, and will be filled with Hogan memorabilia, making it a focal point for fans and visitors alike. Hogan’s image and licensing will be prominently displayed as part of the decor.
Rosen previously shared how he sought out Hogan at an autograph signing to pitch the idea. After waiting hours for two seconds with the wrestler, Rosen presented Hogan with a picture of the MSG storefront and asked him to partner on the project. Hogan responded positively and later called Rosen to express his support.
The bar is scheduled to open this fall, serving as a lasting tribute to Hogan’s legendary legacy. Despite his absence, the venue will stand as a celebration of his life and impact on sports entertainment.
Hogan’s own bar, Hogan’s Hangout, was located in Clearwater, Florida, where he resided. His recent health issues culminated in a cardiac arrest in his home, leading to his death, but his vision for Slam will live on in his honor.
