Chuck E. Cheese Mascot Arrested in Florida in Front of Kids

Masked Mascot Arrested for Credit Card Theft During Children’s Party

A man dressed as the popular cartoon mascot was taken into custody for credit card fraud while working at a children’s entertainment center. The incident occurred during a birthday celebration in Tallahassee, where police entered the venue and arrested the suspect, Jermell Jones, in full costume in front of onlookers.

Jones was seen on camera wearing the characteristic purple sweatshirt with a large “C” and his giant mouse head, which was later placed on top of a police vehicle. His arrest drew criticism from some observers who questioned the appropriateness of detaining him while still in costume, especially with children present.

Additionally, Jones has a prior conviction for the same type of crime, having previously been caught attempting a similar scam involving a Mickey Mouse disguise six months earlier. He faces charges including credit card theft, unauthorized use of personal information, and fraudulent credit card activity.

He was processed and released on a $1,000 bond. The incident has sparked debate over police procedures and the ethics of arresting individuals in costume in front of children and families present at the event.
