Actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner Drowns During Vacation in Costa Rica

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his role on “The Cosby Show,” tragically died while swimming in Costa Rica. Initial reports indicated his 8-year-old daughter was present in the water and was rescued successfully. However, authorities later clarified that she was only on the beach shore when Warner entered the sea with a friend and was swept away by a strong current.

The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency confirmed that Warner had left his daughter on the shore and entered the water with a companion. While the friend managed to escape the powerful rip current, Warner was unable to do so and drowned.

Witnesses, including a doctor on vacation nearby, recounted witnessing Warner struggle in the rough seas. Eventually, Warner was pulled onto the shore, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
