Tekashi 6ix9ine Confesses to Stashing Drugs in Florida Mansion
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Admits to Violating Supervised Release Conditions
Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, confessed in court to breaching the terms of his supervised release after a recent raid uncovered MDMA and cocaine in his bedroom. In light of his guilty plea, prosecutors withdrew other drug and firearm charges against him and requested a delay in his sentencing to allow him to complete community service.
During the hearing, Hernandez appeared subdued and expressed ongoing struggles with depression and PTSD, sharing that he has been seeing a psychiatrist weekly but has not been taking his prescribed medication. The judge agreed to postpone sentencing until September 25 and cautioned that further violations could result in a prison sentence of up to five years.
Hernandez, dressed in a black hoodie with boxer braids, admitted to not taking his antidepressant Zoloft. The judge noted that further misconduct could lead to a prison term, with guidelines suggesting 3 to 9 months for each violation.
Once notorious for his flamboyant persona, Hernandez’s recent behavior indicates efforts at redemption. In 2019, he testified against his former gang associates, resulting in a two-year prison sentence, which was cut short in April 2020 due to health concerns amid the pandemic.
However, his time out of prison has been marred by ongoing legal issues, including lawsuits, assaults, and recent arrests related to drug use and violations of probation. Federal agents raided his home in March, discovering drugs in his bathroom, further complicating his legal situation.
After the hearing, Hernandez quickly left the courthouse, declining to comment on his circumstances.
