At just 14 years old, American actor, writer, and director Whit Hertford was cast in a memorable role in the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park. He played the “volunteer kid,” a young boy who skeptically refers to a Velociraptor as a “six-foot turkey.” His scene captures the innocence and curiosity of children encountering the prehistoric creatures.
In the film, Hertford shared the spotlight with notable actors including Laura Dern as paleobotanist Ellie, Jeff Goldblum as the witty mathematician Ian Malcolm, and Sam Neill portraying the expert dinosaur paleontologist Alan Grant, who is somewhat reluctant about having kids around.
Beyond Jurassic Park, Hertford also appeared on the television series Raising Hope, showcasing his range as an actor beyond his early breakout role.
