Ticonderoga Community Mourns Melina Frattolin, Lake George Murder Victim

Community Mourns 9-Year-Old Melina Frattolin After Tragic Death

Hundreds gathered in a heartfelt vigil to honor Melina Frattolin, a nine-year-old girl whose death has deeply shaken the close-knit community of Ticonderoga.

Organized by local resident Bridgette Cruz, the vigil took place at Percy Bicentennial Park, where community members expressed grief and solidarity. Cruz emphasized that Melina is now one of their own, saying, “If this is going to be her resting place, then this community will embrace her.”

Melina, visiting from Canada, was found in a shallow pond near Eagle Lake, about ten miles from town, where authorities allege her father, Luciano Frattolin, drowned her before making a false 911 call claiming she had been kidnapped. The father has been charged with her murder and the concealment of her body.
