Ozzy Osbourne’s Last Instagram Tribute to Bl:a:ck Sabbath’s Final Show

Legendary Rocker Ozzy Osbourne Passes Away at 76

Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, died on Tuesday at the age of 76. His final Instagram post was a heartfelt tribute to the band’s last concert earlier this month, featuring a poster outside his dressing room with the words, “Back to the Beginning,” symbolizing his journey with the band.

The band’s final performance took place in Birmingham, England, more than two weeks ago. It was a historic 10-hour event at Villa Park Stadium, featuring performances by Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Jack Black, and more, hosted by Jason Momoa. Ozzy had announced in February that he would retire from touring due to declining health, after battling Parkinson’s disease and undergoing extensive spinal surgery in 2022.

Throughout his later years, Ozzy faced significant health challenges. His diagnosis of Parkinson’s was publicly revealed in 2020, and he drastically reduced his touring schedule. Most recently, he appeared in a wheelchair, reflecting his ongoing health struggles.

Family’s Heartfelt Tribute

In a statement, his wife Sharon Osbourne and children Louis (50), Aimee (41), Kelly (40), and Jack (39), expressed their grief, saying, “Our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away surrounded by love. We ask for privacy during this difficult time.” The family did not disclose additional details about his death.

Legacy and Final Performance

Ozzy’s farewell with Black Sabbath marked the end of an era. The band’s last show featured a reunion in Birmingham, where they formed in the late 1960s. Ozzy’s career, spanning decades, was marked by groundbreaking music and a legendary stage presence, despite health setbacks in recent years.

Health Challenges Over the Years

In 2020, Ozzy revealed his Parkinson’s diagnosis. He paused touring after spinal surgery in 2022, and in November 2023, he publicly stated he had roughly ten years left to live due to his health issues. Nonetheless, Kelly Osbourne recently stated he is “not dying,” emphasizing that he remains surrounded by family love despite his mobility limitations.
