Trump Claims Kimmel & Fallon Will Be Gone After ‘Late Show’ Cancellation

Donald Trump Predicts Kimmel and Fallon Will Be Fired After ‘Late Show’ Cancellation

Trump criticizes late-night hosts following Colbert’s departure

Former President Donald Trump has openly targeted late-night comedians Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon, asserting they will soon be ousted from their shows. His remarks come after Stephen Colbert announced his show would end next May, which Trump suggests is only the beginning of a shake-up in late-night TV.

On his social media platform, Trump claimed that Kimmel was the “next to go” in what he called the “untalented Late Night Sweepstakes,” predicting Fallon would also be soon dismissed. He dismissed both hosts, accusing them of lacking talent despite their substantial paychecks and accused them of harming the quality of television entertainment.

Trump expressed satisfaction with their reported departures, stating, “It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!” While there has been no official indication that Fallon or Kimmel are leaving, Trump seemed displeased with the support Colbert received from his fellow hosts. Notably, Kimmel was absent during Colbert’s farewell segment.

Colbert, in a bold moment, directly addressed Trump during his final show by telling him to “Go f*** yourself,” a message that drew widespread attention. The cancellation of Colbert’s show has fueled speculation that Trump may have had a role, especially given ongoing regulatory reviews involving corporate mergers connected to the show’s future.

The White House responded to Colbert’s comments with sharp criticism, calling him a “loser” in a statement. A spokeswoman accused him of being “deeply unfunny and out of touch,” claiming that many Americans are tired of the negativity in his comedy and wishing him better luck in his future endeavors.
