Denise Richards Accuses Estranged Husband of Harassment and Theft

Actress and former reality star Denise Richards alleges that her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, has been harassing her and stealing personal belongings amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.

Richards’ lawyer stated that Phypers has continued to distribute private information from Richards’ mobile devices, which he claims he stole, despite warnings in writing to stop. Her attorney emphasized that such actions disturb her peace and will be addressed legally, not publicly.

Phypers dismissed these accusations, suggesting Richards is exhibiting one of her “upside-down jacket” moments—referencing her infamous fashion choice on a season of her reality show. He denied stealing anything, accusing Richards of attempting to spin the situation for their mutual benefit.

Allegations of Abuse and Addiction

Phypers also accused Richards of longstanding substance abuse issues, alleging she has struggled with Vicodin, Adderall, and alcohol for over 20 years, which he claims has led to dangerous behavior including passing out while driving with their daughter. He further alleges Richards begged him not to leave after discovering she was unfaithful, but she denied the affair and continued to lie.

Richards was granted a restraining order against Phypers, citing physical abuse—including an alleged incident that left her with a black eye. Richards accused him of violently choking her, hitting her, and threatening her life if she reported him to law enforcement. Phypers denied these allegations, attributing her injuries to a fall during a drunken episode in 2022.

Divorce and Conflict

Phypers officially filed for divorce shortly after he claimed Richards assaulted him on July 4, the same date listed as their separation in the divorce filing. He detailed a confrontation over his phone, which he found smashed and hidden in garbage after a lengthy search, and claimed Richards sought to conceal her infidelity with explicit messages.
