Trump Wins Epstein Battle, Left and Media Believe He’s on the Skids
Trump’s Support Remains Strong Despite Media Spin
Contrary to widespread media narratives suggesting declining approval, recent polls reveal that Donald Trump remains highly popular among his base. Historically, whenever opponents declare his downfall, Trump tends to make a significant comeback.
Last week’s attempts to tarnish him by linking him to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, appeared to have little impact. A recent story claimed Trump contributed a fictitious birthday letter to Epstein and Maxwell’s collection in 2003—five years before Epstein’s crimes became public knowledge. Trump has denied any involvement, calling the claims “FAKE” and announced a $10 billion defamation suit.
Long History with Epstein
Despite speculation, Trump distanced himself from Epstein over two decades ago. Evidence shows that he expelled Epstein from Mar-a-Lago around 2004 after allegations of sexual assault involving a minor surfaced. During Epstein’s social rise in the 1990s, Trump’s association was limited, especially as he publicly cut ties with Epstein before his 2008 arrest.
In fact, during Trump’s presidency, efforts intensified to investigate Epstein. In July 2019, federal prosecutors charged Epstein with sex trafficking. Notably, Maurene Comey, daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, led the prosecution—highlighting ongoing political intersections.
Following a recent WSJ story, Comey was unexpectedly dismissed, raising questions about timing, though no confirmed link exists. Trump responded by requesting full release of grand jury testimony to clarify the case, reiterating that association with Epstein doesn’t imply complicity.
Victim Testimonies and Public Perception
Victims testified publicly, detailing their abuse at Epstein’s hands. Virginia Giuffre, who reportedly died recently, claimed Epstein didn’t act alone and named her abuses by powerful men, notably excluding Trump in her accusations.
Her testimony, along with others, underscored the trauma inflicted and the importance of confronting abuse openly. Most victims couldn’t face Epstein in court after his death but shared their stories to expose the extent of his crimes.
Media Bias and Reality Check
While some media outlets focus on allegations against Trump, evidence paints a different picture—showing he moved to distance himself from Epstein early on. Goodwill toward Trump persists, as a recent poll indicates his approval ratings have actually risen amid these scandals. It suggests that the loudest critics often speak only for themselves, not the majority of Americans.
