Man and Associates Accused of Kidnapping and Assaulting Teen Employee
A man from the Bronx and two accomplices are facing serious charges after allegedly kidnapping a 19-year-old employee from his tattoo shop and subjecting her to a brutal attack at his residence.
The incident reportedly began when the tattoo parlor owner, 44-year-old Wayne Barnes, and the victim, with whom he had a romantic relationship, argued in his car while returning to his home in Westchester. According to authorities, Barnes forcibly ejected the young woman onto the roadside on the Grand Central Parkway. He later re-entered the vehicle and attacked her with a metal baton.
Upon arriving at his home, Barnes, his wife Jasmine, and their babysitter, Lizbeth Cerrato-Sanchez, continued to assault the teenager. The attackers allegedly stole her phone to prevent her from calling for help, then pushed her down a staircase, pulled her hair, and hit her repeatedly with the baton. During the assault, their children were reportedly in the house.
The babysitter is also accused of physically hitting the victim. Afterward, the victim was allowed to change clothes, regain her phone, and call an Uber to escape. She sought medical treatment the following day and reported the assault to police.
All three suspects—Wayne Barnes, Jasmine Barnes, and Lizbeth Cerrato-Sanchez—were arrested four days after the attack. They face multiple charges, including kidnapping, assault, and weapons possession. Jasmine Barnes also faces additional charges in the Bronx. Both Barnes have pleaded not guilty. Their legal representatives have expressed surprise at the allegations and hope for vindication.
