Hunter Biden Claims Dad Joe Was On Ambien During 2024 Debate
Hunter Biden Claims His Father Took Ambien During a Critical Debate
In a recent interview, Hunter Biden suggested that his father, President Joe Biden, appeared notably sluggish during a debate with Donald Trump last year because he was under the influence of Ambien—a sleep medication Hunter alleges was taken without official record or prescription.
“I know exactly what happened in that debate,” Hunter stated in the interview, which coincided with the anniversary of Biden ending his re-election bid prematurely. He described his father as exhausted from extensive travel and claimed that Ambien was given to him to aid sleep, which then impacted his performance on-stage.
Despite Hunter’s assertions, official medical records and a note from Dr. Kevin O’Connor following Biden’s health exam in February 2024 do not mention Ambien among his medications. A review of publicly available health documents also revealed no evidence of such a prescription.
Hunter further commented on the aftermath of the debate, stating that Biden faced immense pressure to prove his fitness as a candidate. He criticizes media missteps, such as Biden confusing Ukrainian President Zelensky with Vladimir Putin during a call, and recalls Biden contracting COVID-19 shortly afterward. Hunter described Biden’s illness and subsequent public appearances as damaging to his campaign.
He characterized the decision for Biden to step aside as an act of selflessness, suggesting that internal party pressures, including warnings of protest and opposition, influenced his father’s choice. Hunter praised Biden as having achieved more of the Democratic agenda in four years than any other president.
While Hunter’s claims add controversy to Biden’s health narrative, a representative for the former president has yet to comment publicly. The discussion continues to fuel debate over the health and stamina of the 81-year-old commander-in-chief as he prepares for upcoming political engagements.
