The Wall Street Journal reported the letter as involving fanciful phrases and a doodle, which Trump denied ever writing or drawing, labeling the claims as “FAKE,” and filed a $10 billion libel suit.

The letter’s content and timing are less significant than the fact that Trump severed ties with Epstein over a decade before Epstein’s 2008 arrest, reflecting his disapproval of Epstein’s behavior. Records indicate Trump expelled Epstein from Mar-a-Lago in 2004 for inappropriate conduct, long before Epstein’s criminal convictions surfaced.

Trump’s distancing from Epstein distinguishes him from other social elites, such as Prince Andrew and Bill Gates, who maintained associations even after Epstein’s legal issues.
